Although its nice to have that "model body" a good attitude is usually the key to get more jobs. The reason I say this is because I have been with many different agencies and have had alot of modeling experience. I have seen models come and go...even really attractive ones because they just had that attitude that their bodies would get them the jobs they wanted. I am not saying this to be mean I am just saying that even with a good body if you are not an easy person to get along with it makes it hard. Also, when you apply for modeling jobs let the agents see for themselves that you are attractive. Dont tell them you are. They see attractive people day in and day out. Also, by doing that you open yourself up to alot of weirdo's so to speak who are using that attractive body to make them money. To give you an example...One of my first agents was a decent person..or so we thought. He did the normal thing like sending professional emails back and forth, taking me and my mother to lunch to get to know us and let us know what he had in mind..and we trusted him. In fact we trusted him for almost six months only to find out that his site was a [censored word]. He was later arrested for online child [censored word] although none of the photos I took where like that..others where. Dont get me wrong..we checked him out with bbc and a couple other places and he would always have a "reasonable excuse" for something. All I am saying is not everyone is like that but be careful the way you advertise yourself.
In order to get a modeling agent you need photos. They dont need to be professional photos they can be ones your friends or parents take. Make sure you have a couple of your face both with and without make-up. Also you will need full body photos..maybe one with something comfortable like jeans or sweat suit type outfit, one with a skirt and or shorts, and one with a bathingsuit. They do this so they can get an idea of what you look like with various outfits on and if you have the look to sell whatever it is they are photographing for. From there you can either submit your photos/resume online (again first check into the company) or send them out to different agencies. Modeling is alot different then acting in the sense that you can send them your portfolio and they will email instead of having to go door to door trying to get your foot in.
Again, I dont want you to think I am being negative about what you posted..I just want you to be more careful as to how exactly you describe yourself as you may or may not wind up with alot of emails from "so called agents" wanting you to model for reasons other then for real jobs. This is my advice from one model to another. If you want any other advice you can also email me. I know what its like when your first starting out and I also know how frustrating it can be when you want something so bad and it doesnt happen as fast as you think it should.
This is just my opinion and is not the opinion of others on the board. Good luck and keep us posted.
